ABOUT US

Since 1998, the Maine Society of Association Executives (MSAE) has been promoting the profession of association management.

OUR VISION

MSAE exists for only one purpose: to help you and other association professionals do your job more effectively.

We do this by providing a statewide medium for the exchange of experience and opinions through discussion and study of the functions of associations, legal aspects of association activity, policies related to association management, and the responsibilities and professional standards of association executives.

Our membership includes association managers and support staff from a wide variety of trade, professional, educational, and philanthropic organizations, plus a number of “associate” members, representing firms engaged in selling products or services to members of MSAE.

MSAE activities and accomplishments have included:

• Developing a compensation survey of Maine association professionals

• Education programs covering topics such as unrelated business income, using the latest technology, fraud and abuse in associations, increasing non-dues revenue, lobbying rules and regulations, and other topics of key interest

• Development of an e-mail listserv to promote interaction among members

• Publication of a periodic newsletter

• and Much More!

NE/SAE provides opportunities for our members to get the professional development they need when budgets are tight by offering our regular members financial assistance in the way of scholarships. We are also proud to give awards that recognize outstanding accomplishments in the industry.
